Something died
and fell long
and slow and deep
into darkness
looking like lostness
feeling like loss
hurting like hope drained out
In the darkness
an emptiness ached
like the end of something
grief weighed
like gravity
and it felt final.
Like the end.
But in the deepest part of darkness
an unseen promise poised
a restless hope waited
ready to burst
ready to begin
ready to declare
Life continues still!
New beginnings
gestate in the dark
wombed in silent earth
held in a hallowed hush
unseen, unfelt, unknown
waiting alone
for the deep beginning.
Within the grain of loss
life grows
curled and cradled
poised and patient
Ready to begin. Again.
Hope unfurls
stretching towards light.
Something died
and fell long
and slow and deep
into darkness.
It was a seed
a life about to bud.
Life is always watered
by rainstorms
