What if strength isn’t real strength
What if might isn’t true might?
What if all the things we reach for
Are just vapour in our eyes?
What if success on the grand stage
is failure in our core?
What if wealth that you can touch
is poverty in our heart?
What if the small things are momentous
and the loud things truly less?
What if all the noise surrounding us
is nothing but just that?
What if truth comes in a whisper
and half truth in a shout,
and certainty is folly
designed to drown our questions out.
What if questions are not for answers
but living in a quest
a journey to the centre
of unnamed knowings in our depths?
What if God is what is real
and all else is the lie
And walking on the edge of wonder
is where strength and wholeness lies?
What if strength isn’t real strength
What if might isn’t true might?
What if all the things we reach for
Are just vapour in our eyes?
